How to connect your own domain to your academy

From the Creator package you connect a domain you own, like academy.yourdomain.com or yourdomain.com. You save it in Settings, add the record the Domain tab shows you (CNAME for a subdomain, A for the root domain), and click Verify DNS.

Available on: Creator, Academy, Cohorts and Enterprise. On Free Community your academy lives at yourname.wislab.app.

Step by step

  1. Step 1: In your dashboard go to My academy → General and open the Domain tab.

  2. Step 2: Under Custom domain type the domain without https:// or www., for example academy.yourdomain.com, and save it.

  3. Step 3: At the provider where you bought your domain, add the record the screen shows you, with the name and value exactly as shown (each one has a copy button). If the screen also asks for a TXT record, add it too.

  4. Step 4: Wait for the change to propagate. It usually takes minutes, but it can take up to 48 hours.

  5. Step 5: Go back to the Domain tab and click Verify DNS. When the status says "Verified and connected", your academy answers on your domain.

Subdomain or root domain

A subdomain (academy.yourdomain.com) connects with a CNAME record named after its first part (academy). The root domain (yourdomain.com) connects with an A record named @. The screen detects which one you have and shows the right record with your value.

If your domain is already in another Vercel account, the screen also asks for a TXT record named _vercel to prove it is yours.

Until you verify

Your academy keeps working at yourname.wislab.app. Your own domain starts serving the academy only after it is verified. If you change the domain, the new one has to be verified.

Only the owner or an admin can change the domain.
